AES Engineering Scholarship – If you are going into engineering, please apply for the AES Engineers Scholarship.  You can find more information at http://www.aesengineers.com/scholarships.htm Application deadline is October 6th. 
 
Horatio  Alger Scholarship – The eligibility criteria to be considered for all Horatio Alger National and State Scholarship Programs are as  follows:
*Be enrolled full-time as a high school senior in the United States with plans to enter college no later than the fall semester following graduation.
*Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor’s degree at an accredited non-profit public or private institution in the United States (students may start their studies at a two-year institution and then transfer to a four-year institution)
*Demonstrate critical financial need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income is required)
*Be involved in co-curricular and community service activities
*Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity
*Hold a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0
*Be a United States Citizen

Washington University in St. Louis Danforth Scholars – If you are planning of going to Washington University in St Louis, Danforth Scholars applications are in the counselor’s office.  Deadline for application is November 15th.
 
University of Missouri Scholarships – The application priority deadline for scholarships is December 15thGo to scholarships.missouri.edu  for more information.

Dr. Darrell "Jack" Holley/MUSIC Scholarship - Now available, six $2000 scholarships (nonrenewable) will be awarded to students who graduate in  2017 from high schools in MUSIC member districts.  The deadline is February 17th.  Download application here.  ​

Kansas City Associated Equipment Distributors Scholarship Application -  Deadline is March 1st.  Get application here.

MO Bankers Foundation Scholarship - Students should be planning to enroll in a full-time course of study leading to a major in a field related to banking.  Application may be obtained here.  Deadline is March 10th.

 MFA Foundation – This is a one-time $2000 scholarship.  In making its decision, the committee considers; Scholastic Progress, Citizenship, Extra-Curricular Activities, Educaional Plans, and Financial Need.   Applications must be returned to the counselor’s office by March 15thPrint application here.


Junior League of Springifleld - Applicants must be a female, US Citizen, US National or US Permanent Resident, A resident of Springfield or one of its surrounding communities, Attending secondary school full time.  Anticipating high school graduation in the 2016-17 academic year.  Planning to pursue a degree at an accredited US post secondary institution for the 2017-18 academic year.  Maintaining a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.

ABC Motors Business & Entrepreneurship Scholarship – This scholarship is intended for students who can demonstrate need.  Preference will be given towards the pursuit of entrepreneurship and business education.  ​Applications must be turned in by March 28th  to the counselor’s office.  This is a generic application, print cover page here, print application page here.


The Hamels Foundation – This scholarship is for any Buffalo High School graduating senior with a desire to continue their education.  Winners will be determined by the Hamels Foundation.  Applications must be turned in by March 28th  to the counselor’s office.  The Hamels foundation is a non-profit organization founded by ’08 world Series MVP Pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies, Cole Hamels and his wife Heidi (Strobel) Hamels.  The Hamels Foundation believes education is the answer to poverty and supports programs in both the Philadelphia, PA and Springfield, MO areas in the USA.  It is also dedicated to helping Malawi’s one million orphans and victims of the AIDS/HIV virus.  A Primary School is currently underway in Malawi’s most impoverished area.  Please ask how you can be a sponsor!  This is a generic application, print cover page here, print application page here.

Jerry Don Sharp Memorial Scholarship – This scholarship is to be awarded to a graduate of Buffalo High School in memory of Jerry Don Sharp.  Selection Criteria is the following:
*Any student graduating from Buffalo High School.
*First preference will be given to a student majoring in Automotive Technology.
*This one-year scholarship will be distributed into two payments, the second half upon successful completion of the first semester and enrollment in a second semester.  In the event the recipient does not fulfill requirements, the scholarship will be forfeited to another recipient chosen by the family.  Applications must be turned in by March 28th  to the counselor’s office.  This is a generic application, print cover page here, print application page here.


O’Bannon Bank – A $1500 scholarship will be offered to a Buffalo High School graduating senior.  Applications are open to all seniors. Applications may be printed here and turned in to the counselor’s office by March 28th. 
 
O’Bannon Bank Athletic Scholarship - Awarded to two  graduating seniors (one male and one female) for academic performance, good citizenship, and participation in any Buffalo High School athletic program. Applications may be printed here and  turned in to the counselor’s office by March 28th.  


Buffalo Baseball Club Scholarship – This Scholarship is for a graduating senior male baseball player that will be attending college.  Applications must be turned in to the counselor’s office by March 28th.This is a generic application, print cover page here, print application page here.

Buffalo Area Chamber of Commerce – Scholarship recipient will be a graduating senior from Buffalo High School.  The criteria for the scholarship is as follows:  Leadership, citizenship, responsibility, attendance, academics, etc.  For this scholarship, academic performance is not the only criteria.  This is a scholarship that gives recognition for leadership.  Applications are due March 28thThis is a generic application, print cover page here, print application page here.


Joyce Ray Scholarship – BHS seniors who are active members in Future Teachers of America and going into the education profession and be entering a college that offers an accredited educations program are eligible to apply for the scholarship.  Applicants must also exhibit good citizenship.  Applications must be turned in to the counselor’s office by March 28thThis is a generic application, print cover page here, print application page here.

The Dallas County Community Teachers Association Scholarship – This scholarship has been created for students with a desire to pursue a career in education.   Applications must be turned in to the counselor's office by March 28th.  This is a generic application, print cover page here, print application page here.

School of Metaphysics Foundation Scholarship Program - Open to High School Students in Dallas and surrounding counties.  $500 to be awarded to the highest qualifying male and female student.  Applications may be obtained here.  Application deadline is March 28thTurn application in to the counselor’s office.

American Veterans Scholarship – The local American Veterans will be giving away scholarships to graduating seniors.  This is a generic application, print cover page here, print application page here.  The last page after the transcript and ACT page, please include if applicable, information on a member of your family that has served in the military, you must add a 1 page essay on “What democracy means to you”.  Application deadline is March 28th.
 

Larry Weaver, Jr., Memorial Scholarship – Students must have a financial need, academic achievement, extra-curricular activities, have an ACT or SAT score, preference to members of the Buffalo Bible Baptist Church in regular attendance for the past six months;  if none, graduating seniors from missionaries’ families who are supported by Buffalo Bible Baptist Church.  Applications are due by March 28th to the address listed on the application. Kenneth Nyberg Memorial Scholarship – The Kenneth Nyberg Memorial Scholarship will recognize a scholarship to a deserving Buffalo High School Senior who is pursuing a higher education degree in a health related field.  Applications must be turned in by March 28th,   to the counselor’s office.  Applications may be obtained here.


Buffalo Rotary Club Davis and Mallory Memorial Fund – This scholarship is to encourage scholars to appreciate the value of good citizenship and service to others through service organizations such as Rotary International and for other charitable purposes by providing an annual scholarship of at least $1500 to a graduating senior at Buffalo High School. Students should turn in applications to the counselor’s office.  Deadline is March 28th.

Shelter Insurance – Shelter Insurance is pleased to offer one Shelter Insurance Foundation Scholarship to a Buffalo High School 2017 Senior.  Scholarship recipients are free to select any accredited college or university and any course of study they desire to pursue leading to an academic degree.  The scholarship will be paid directly to the college to apply to the tuition, fees, room and board of the student.  Applications may be obtained in the counselor’s office.  Scholarships must be turned in to the counselor’s office by March 28thStudent MUST attach a copy of their transcript to the application for the application to be complete.  Application may be obtained hereRequirements may be obtained here.

Mary McKown Scholarship – This scholarship was established by Mary McKown, who taught many years at Buffalo High School.  This scholarship is open to all seniors.  Application deadline is March 28th.  Applications must be turned in to the counselor’s office.

Dorotha Watkins Jacobsen Scholarship – One one time scholarships will be given.  This scholarship was established pursuant to the terms of Mrs. Jacobsen’s will.  The interest is used each year to award the scholarships and must be used at Missouri State University (MSU).  This scholarship is open to all seniors who are planning on attending MSU.  Application deadline is March 28th.  Applications must be turned in to the counselor’s office.  This is a generic application, print cover page here, print application page here.
 
D. A. Mallory Scholarship – Established in the 70’s in honor of Dillard A. Mallory, who was superintendent at BHS from the 1940’s to 1975.  This scholarship is open to all seniors.  Application deadline is March 28thThis is a generic application,

Buffalo Area Kiwanis Club – This scholarship is open to any graduating senior.  Winner will be determined by the local Kiwanis Club.  Applications must be turned in by March 28th to the counselor’s office.

Shewmaker Trust Scholarship – On behalf of the Jack Shewmaker Family Scholarship Trust, funds will be available to provide three scholarships to deserving seniors graduating from Buffalo High School this spring.  Applications must be turned in to the counselor’s office by March 28th.

Roy Scott Scholarship – This fund has been established to honor graduating seniors for good citizenship.  To recognize and reward seniors for good citizenship and to recognize and reward students who have contributed service to the community and participated in extracurricular activities of the school.  Applications must be turned in to the counselor’s office by March 28th.

Oakstar Bank Good Citizen Scholarship - This $1500 scholarship is to honor a graduating senior for good citizenship and to recognize and reward a student who has contributed service to the community and extra-curricular activities of the school.  Requirements:  Any graduating senior who has:
 
            *Attended the last four consecutive years in the Buffalo School system
*Maintained grades necessary for admission to a post high school education
  (academic, such as college or university and/or vocational, such as trade schools)
*Actively participated during his or her high school years in two or more
  community organizations, I.e., church activities, boy scouts, girls scouts, etc. and 
  or two or  more school extra curricular activities, i.e., s ports, clubs, student
              government, etc.

Bolivar MPA Chapter - This scholarship is too be used for aviation inluding flying lessons, ground school courses, leading to become a pilot.  Application deadline is March 31st.  Students will mail their own scholarship back to the address on the application.  Applications may be obtained here.
